The Hana Cycle Club Asahidake Cycling Tour is a small-group cycling tour starting from JR Asahikawa Station and heading toward the Daisetsuzan Asahidake area and the Asahidake Ropeway base station. The ride follows the cycling road along the Chubetsu River upstream, then continues beyond Chubetsu Lake toward the mountain foothills. On the climbing section, participants ride at their own pace while taking in the natural scenery of Daisetsuzan, Japan's largest national park area. The event is designed as a long ride through Hokkaido landscapes, with a relaxed group-ride atmosphere on flatter sections and a more self-paced approach on the ascent. Riders are expected to have prior long-distance cycling experience and to be comfortable riding safely in a group, climbing for an extended period, and descending carefully. The tour includes support by car, allowing participants to leave items such as walking shoes for the optional Asahidake area stroll. E-bikes are accepted, and rental road bike and bicycle transport options are offered separately by the organizer. The overall character is a guided cycling and Asahidake nature outing that combines road cycling, mountain scenery, fresh Hokkaido air, and the chance to enjoy the ropeway and alpine walking area for those who choose to do so.
