【東京荒川】THE CHALLENGE RACE 41|日本陸連公認レース
THE CHALLENGE RACE is a Japan Association of Athletics Federations certified road race held on the Arakawa riverbed in Tokyo, using an especially flat section of the riverside course. The event is built around the idea of supporting every runner who wants to realize a personal goal, from newer participants to highly competitive athletes aiming for qualifying standards or personal bests. A defining feature is the broad pacer system, with pacers assigned across fourteen target groups to help runners maintain a controlled and consistent rhythm. The course is described by the organizer as one of Japan's fastest, with very little elevation variation, making it well suited to record attempts. The race also emphasizes practical race-day support, including aid stations with drinks and nutrition, and a start-area flow that allows runners to continue warming up until shortly before lining up. Starting and finishing near the Arakawa Toda Bridge Green Space Athletic Stadium, the event offers a focused, performance-oriented racing environment on a non-exclusive public riverside course.
