Granfondo Kyoto is a supported cycling event based at Ayabe Gunze Square in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, with riders traveling through the Chutan area of northern Kyoto. The venue is located only a few hundred meters from JR Ayabe Station, making it accessible by public transportation, and free participant parking is arranged nearby, including areas along the Yura River. The event is explicitly described as a cycling event rather than a race, with riders expected to manage their own safety and fully follow traffic rules such as riding single file on the left side of the road, stopping where required, and obeying signals. The route is supported by multiple aid stations that provide simple food, water, and passage checks.
